The Family Of God
Eph 2:19
So then, you Gentiles are not foreigners or strangers any longer; you are now citizens together with God's people and members of the family of God.
Imagine how do you feel if mr. president wants to call u as his children, you must be really happy and proud..
And it will make u even more blessed that God has chosen you to be His child..He choose you…!!
What we learn as the Family of God
1. We’re God’s family
Gal 6:10
Right now, therefore, every time we get the chance, let us work for the benefit of all, starting with the people closest to us in the community of faith.
Be kind to each other who has the same faith
2. We’re Gods children
Joh 1:12
Some, however, did receive him and believed in him; so he gave them the right to become God's children.
He’s the initiator to make us His children, not us.
Rom 8:15-16
For the Spirit that God has given you does not make you slaves and cause you to be afraid; instead, the Spirit makes you God's children, and by the Spirit's power we cry out to God, "Father! my Father!"
God's Spirit joins himself to our spirits to declare that we are God's children.
As a child, we must:
- have a close relationship with our Father
- have the right to inherit His kingdom
Rom 8:17
And if we are children, we have a right to a part in the heritage; a part in the things of God, together with Christ; so that if we have a part in his pain, we will in the same way have a part in his glory.
3. We’re brothers and sisters
God makes us become his chrildren to Him and also brother and sister to each other, that’s why as brother and sister we must act like in the family, care for each other.
Heb 2:11
For he who makes holy and those who are made holy are all of one family; and for this reason it is no shame for him to give them the name of brothers,
Act 15:23
And they sent a letter by them, saying, The Apostles and the older brothers, to the brothers who are of the Gentiles in
1Co 1:10
Now I make request to you, my brothers, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you will all say the same thing, and that there may be no divisions among you, so that you may be in complete agreement, in the same mind and in the same opinion.
It’s a very simple message, we may have heard about this thousand of times and we also knew this principle from long time ago, but have u really have life your life as what it says? Have you forgiven your brothers/sisters everytime they make mistakes ? just simple as that, I believe we sometimes fail to do that.. hopefully this simple message will remind us again to love one another start from us in the family of God, after that then we can love other people and share the good news about Jesus love..
