Yesterday Christmas celebration (Dec 23rd) at church was little bit different than years before. This xmas theme is Christmas Hope which means that christmas is supposed to bring hope to those who need.
This christmas as a church we appreciate some people in need, the first one is Pak Setiadi, he's one of the church member who always come early every sunday, helping prepare everything for the service like preparing brochure, drink, chair, etc. He's very humble person, he works as freelance worker, he lives in a very small house. His faith keeps him do little things to serve God. Rarely people recognize him at church before yesterday. We appreciate him on the stage and give him a buch of christmas gift. He deserve that.
The second one if one poor christian family who has 4 kids, 3 girls and 1 boy, they are not member of our church but we found them and this xmas we wanna bring hope to their life. They have a christmas dream of having a better life, 2 older girls wanna keep continue their school and 2 younger one wanna have a bicycle, because it takes 4 km for them to reach school, so if tey have bicycle, its easier for them. Then all happen this sunday. They have 1 year full scholarship for 2 kids and 2 bicycles for 2 kids.. Finally magic happen in their life..
I was so overwhelmed with how small things could bring such a great hope in people's life..
Yesterday Joy Tobing also presented 2 songs, its First Noel and We Are The Reason. The message from Ps. Jimmy Oentoro was beautiful..
On the closing message he said (more less)... If the world need wealth, then God will send the best finance manager, If the world need laughter, God will send a clown, But He knows the world need salvation, that's why He send His only Son, the Saviour to save all people.
Yes this is what christmas is all about.. bring hope to those who need and remind them again about the reason why Jesus come to this world..its for us to have an eternal life...
