Today i went to ofternoon service at karawaci as i have things to do at my project in tangerang,
so i can't attend morning service. This sunday the message still about relationship in the family, about loving each other.
We will learn from Noah in the Old Testament. (Genesis 6)
Living a pleasing Life
Eph 5:8-10
8.You yourselves used to be in the darkness, but since you have become the Lord's people, you are in the light. So you must live like people who belong to the light,
9.for it is the light that brings a rich harvest of every kind of goodness, righteousness, and truth.
10.Try to learn what pleases the Lord.
Genesis 6:8
But the LORD was pleased with Noah.
Noah has lived a life that pleasing God, we can learn from him how to build a life that pleasing God's heart.
Because i believe that its should be the reason we live.
1. Have a intimate relatinship with God
Gen 6:9
This is the account of Noah and his descendants. Noah had God's approval and was a man of integrity among the people of his time. He walked with God.
Noah walked with God, he had a close relationship with God and it involved the deep love and understanding.
The question is how's your relationship with God?
start from family, do we have the intimate relationship between husband and wife ?
2. Trust God with all your heart
Hebrews 11:7
It was faith that made Noah hear God's warnings about things in the future that he could not see. He obeyed God and built a boat in which he and his family were saved. As a result, the world was condemned, and Noah received from God the righteousness that comes by faith.
Trust requires faith and love.
We have to trust God because He knows only the best thing for us eventhough sometimes it seems impossible.
just like Noah trusted God when he built the ark in the dry land.
3. Obey God with all your heart
Genesis 6:22
Noah did everything that God commanded.
Obedience teachs us more about the understanding of God.
And to understand more about God requires listening heart.
Listening produce actions as the response of obedience.
Obedience is the proof of love,
and the delay to obey same as disobedience.
John 14:15
"If you love me, you will obey my commandments.
4. Be grateful through Praise and Worship.
Genesis 8:20
Noah built an altar to the LORD; he took one of each kind of ritually clean animal and bird, and burned them whole as a sacrifice on the altar.
The first thing Noah did after got out from the ark is to build an altar to bring sacrifice to God.
Our offering must based on nothing but love, that's how we please God.
Give Him thanks with a grateful heart for everything we have in our life, including our family..
There are 2 Reasons of be thankful:
* to enjoy all the grace God has given to us
* to express our feeling because we respect God
these also can be related to the marriage life..how we treated our spouse.
5. Use your God's given talents.
Genesis 9:1-2
1 God blessed Noah and his sons and said, "Have many children, so that your descendants will live all over the earth.
2 All the animals, birds, and fish will live in fear of you. They are all placed under your power.
* do all things according to God's plan for us..
* build a family that pleases God's heart
* manage the world and God's creations
Rom 12:6
So we are to use our different gifts in accordance with the grace that God has given us. If our gift is to speak God's message, we should do it according to the faith that we have;
Just like in the family, each person, husband and wife has their own talents, both must develop them.
---
I hope this message will give us more understanding about how we should live our life while we still alive.
To please God's heart should be our main concern and that should start from our heart that really love God.
I pray that you'll be blessed by this messaged as i am..
God bless you all, have a blessed week...
Just remember that God is always with us...
